On Election Day eve, the rumors are swirling as to who will challenge Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in the 2014 race.
According to The Huffington Post’s Howard Fineman, the Kentucky Democrats with money to spend want actress-activist Ashley Judd — and Kentucky native — to take a shot at the GOP leader.
The chief problem with recruiting Judd to run against McConnell—she’s a Tennesseean.
Judd was just recently a state delegate at the 2012 Democratic National Convention and critics say that, besides her well-known support for the University of Kentucky basketball team, she doesn’t have much connection to the state politically.
Another potential complication is that Tennessee Democrats may want to recruit Judd first, to run against Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander in two years.
