Beau Biden to Speak at Kentucky Democrat's Annual Dinner

Kentucky Democrats are bringing in a well-connected out-of-state politician  to headline their annual state dinner. State Democrats aim for high-profile names to headline their annual Wendell Ford Dinner—this year they've booked Beau Biden, the Delaware Attorney General and the son of Vice President Joe Biden. The Kentucky Democratic Party  was looking for a young, up-and-coming speaker for this year's event, Chair Dan Logsdon said.Logsdon said the party reached out with the help of Kentucky's own attorney general, Jack Conway. Here's a short bio of Biden from the Delaware AG's office:

Beau Biden's public service began at the United States Department of Justice in 1995. From 1995 to 1997, he served as Counsel in the Office of Policy Development, working on a variety of issues, including those related to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, the Violence Against Women Act, and with regard to missing and exploited children. General Biden served as a Federal Prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office in Philadelphia from 1997 until 2002. In 2001, General Biden served as Interim Legal Advisor for the United States Department of Justice in post-war Kosovo. Beau Biden was engaged in private law practice from 2002 until his election as Attorney General.

"He's a known entity to Democrats here in Kentucky and you know I think it's going to be a terrific night," Logsdon said of Biden. The dinner will take place June 6 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Louisville.
