Bellarmine Knights Resumes D-II NCAA Tournament Play

In college basketball, the Bellarmine Knights return to action in the Elite Eight of the men’s Division II NCAA Tournament.

Bellarmine takes on Minnesota State-Morehead for a berth in the Final Four. The Knights are looking to capture their second NCAA title in five years.

Tipoff is at 9:30 p.m. in Evansville, Indiana.

In D-I action, No. 1-seed Kentucky Wildcats resume play Thursday night.

Undefeated UK faces No. 5-seed West Virginia in a Sweet Sixteen game in Cleveland.
UK guard Devin Booker said one reason the talent-heavy Wildcats have been so successful is their willingness to play unselfishly.

“You know, Coach (John Calipari) stressed to us throughout the whole season that we don’t need just one leader," Booker said. "We can all be leaders and we’re all on the same mission out there and that’s what we do. We just try to win. If we’re all that competitive and we want to win, we all come together.”

UK and West Virginia will tip off at approximately 9:45 p.m. Thursday. The No. 4-seed Louisville Cardinals return to tournament action Friday night against No. 8-seed North Carolina State.

In the women’s tournament, No. 3 U of L takes on No. 7 Dayton Saturday.
