Beshear Unsure Tighter Gun Laws Could Prevent Massacre

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear won't commit to additional gun control laws in light of the shooting spree at a Colorado theater last week.

The incident has sparked questions about regulating the Second Amendment, particularly the lapse on a previous ban on military-style assault weapons. According to The Daily Beast, Kentucky has the fifth most permissive gun laws in the country and is among the top exporters for guns used in crimes.

But when asked by Pure Politics if the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado should mean looking into those laws Beshear said he wasn't sure that tighter restrictions would have made a difference.
