The trainer of Bluegrass Stakes winner and Kentucky Derby contender Dance With Fate says the colt had to be euthanized after suffering an injury during training at a California track.Dance With Fate was galloping at Del Mar race track early Thursday when he got startled and ran into a fence rail.     His exercise rider was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.The colt was training for the San Diego Handicap Saturday at Del Mar.       

It would have been his first start since the Kentucky Derby, where he finished sixth.     Trainer Peter Eurton says the three-year-old suffered ligament injuries in the mishap.  Later, in a Twitter post, Eurton said, “it’s with a heavy heart that we report Dance With Fate could not survive his injuries.”Dance With Fate had three victories in nine career starts, including April’s first place finish in the Bluegrass Stakes at Keeneland.
