2 More Bodies Found in Ohio River 3 Days After Boat Capsized

Update 7:01 a.m. Wednesday
A girl's body has been pulled from the Ohio River, and authorities are trying to determine whether it's that of a child who went missing when a boat capsized.

Louisville police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said police were called about 6 p.m. Tuesday after a towboat operator spotted the body. That was about six hours after the body of an adult female was found upstream.

Neither body has been identified.

Nine people were aboard the pontoon boat when it capsized Saturday night after it slammed into a barge. Five people didn't make it out of the water, including a man whose body was pulled from the river that night and a teenager who died at the scene.
Update 3:46 p.m.: Second Body Found
A woman's body has been pulled from the Ohio River, and authorities are waiting for the coroner to determine whether it is one of three who went missing when their boat capsized nine miles upstream.

Two died in the Saturday night boat wreck. A man, a woman and a child remained missing as rescuers scoured the river for days.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jack Arnold says the body of 37-year-old Danal Swinney was found late Monday. He had drowned.

Swinney's daughter, 10-year-old Dasia, remained missing, along with Swinney's girlfriend, Joyce Wright.

Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says the body of an adult woman was found Tuesday morning in the river west of downtown. The coroner will have to confirm her identity.

Earlier: Louisville Metro Police says investigators believe they have recovered the body of one of the three people who remain missing after a pontoon boat capsized in the Ohio River over the weekend.

Police say a family walking along the river near the Falls of the Ohio Monday night found the body and called authorities.

Capt. Joel DeMoss tells TV station WLKY authorities believe it was likely a man involved in the accident.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Jack Arnold says he expects to identify the victim by Tuesday.

Missing are Danal Swinney, 36; his girlfriend, Joyce Wright, 37; and his 10-year-old daughter, called "We-We."

Officials say nine people were aboard the boat to watch Fourth of July fireworks when it capsized Saturday. One adult and one child died. Four people were rescued.
