9:10 – A debate over industrial hemp in Kentucky has boiled over into a legislative controversy. After more than an hour of testimony on a bill to legalize the crop in the House Agriculture Committee earlier this week, Democratic Committee Chairman Tom McKee effectively blocked the bill. Later we move on to other state news this week, including pension reform and alcohol sales on election days.

The bill received support for Education Commissioner Terry Holliday and a rally was held in Frankfort supporting the measure. Charter schools have long-been a controversial discussion in Kentucky and Jefferson County where several people support the initiative, but the school district does not. Devin Katayama and Kenny Colston discuss the latest.
