Byline Today: Kentucky Primary Elections, Preakness Stakes and Hemp

We’re talking elections, hemp seeds and the Preakness Stakes today on Byline.

First off, WFPL’s Phillip Bailey and Kentucky Public Radio’s Jonathan Meador will discuss the primary election on Tuesday. They’ll talk about the U.S. Senate race and local elections, too.

Jonathan will also stick around to chat about the recent developments in the state agriculture department’s efforts to get federal authorities to release hemp seeds meant for research.

Later, we’ll hear from Courier-Journal turfwriter Jennie Rees. She’ll talk about Saturday’s Preakness Stakes and Derby winner California Chrome’s prospects for a Triple Crown bid.

Also, we’ll also hear about the Jefferson County Board of Education’s decision to close a middle school and get our weekly arts update.

Join us at 1 p.m. today for Byline. Listen at 89.3 or stream at WFPL.org.
