This week, a whistleblower lawsuit against Louisville Metro Police was settled, the Kentucky General Assembly session closed and a renown education expert visited Louisville. We’ll talk about these stories and more this afternoon on Byline.
First up, Kentucky Public Radio’s Jonathan Meador will discuss what did (and didn’t) pass in the Kentucky General Assembly’s just-closed 2014 legislative session.
Jonathan will also talk about the settlement of a lawsuit filed by Louisville Metro Police officer Barron Morgan, who alleged he was retaliated against for upsetting his superiors. There’s much more to the story.
Then, WDRB’s Jason Riley will stop by to discuss the mistrial in Louisville of a murder case that has led to questions of a former prosecutor’s handling of it.
We’ll also hear from Diane Ravitch, the education expert who was in town this week to accept a Grawemeyer Award. She sat down earlier with week with WFPL’s Devin Katayama.
And noted journalist Matt Taibbi sat down with WFPL’s Phillip Bailey. We’ll hear from that interview.
