Byline | Tournament Time; Coal in Decline; Choreographer Adam Hougland

Here are the topics covered this hour on Byline (full audio link below):At the top - It's Final Four weekend, and the city is abuzz as the Louisville Cardinals hit the courts in two cities:  men in Atlanta, and women in New Orleans.  WFPL's Joseph Lord speaks with women's coach Jeff Walz about the season and upcoming games.  Then Lord speaks with guest host Gabe Bullard about post-game safety plans for areas of the city where celebrations might get out of hand.  Finally, Bullard speaks with Courier-Journal sports writer C.L. Brown about the men's Cardinal team and the upcoming game with Wichita State.15:05 - The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet released data this week showing that coal production is down in Eastern Kentucky from previous years, and the region’s workforce is suffering. Coal production dropped more than 27 percent from 2011 to 2012 in Eastern Kentucky.  WFPL's Erica Peterson discusses the findings.20:40 - Award-winning journalist Blaine Harden’s newest book, Escape from Camp 14, tells the story of Shin Dong-hyuk, a North Korean born and raised in a prison camp - one of a very few such prisoners to have escaped captivity.  Harden speaks with WFPL's Rick Howlett in advance of Harden's appearance at the Louisville Free Public Library next week.29:05 - The Frazier History Museum's exhibit, "Spirits of the Passage," features nearly 150 artifacts that tell the story of the Transatlantic slave trade from the 16th through 19th centuries. The work focuses on resilience, resistance, and the slave trade's modern legacies. Executive Director Madeleine Burnside speak with Kaila Story and Jaison Gardner of WFPL's Strange Fruit podcast, to talk about the exhibit.35:45 - WFPL's arts and humanities reporter Erin Keane runs down some exciting events taking place around town this weekend, then sits down with choreographer Adam Hougland, whose Ten Beautiful Objects premieres April 12-13, created especially for the men of the Louisville Ballet.
