Cards Climb Into Top 20; Face North Carolina Saturday

The Louisville Cardinals have moved up four spots in the latest national college football polls.

U of L is ranked 19th in this week’s Associated Press poll and 20th in the USA Today/coaches poll following Saturday’s 35-7 win over Missouri State.

Coach Charlie Strong says it’s too early to tell if the Cards are really one of the 20 best teams in the country.

"But do they deserve it? I would say they deserve it just because of the way they’ve worked," Strong said at his Monday press conference.

"But still, though, we still have a lot of football to play. It’s two games into the season. We have ten left."

U of L’s next opponent is North Carolina, who beat the Cards last year in Chapel Hill. Saturday’s kickoff is 3:30pm at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Kentucky returns to action Saturday night, hosting Western Kentucky. The Indiana Hoosiers take on Ball State Saturday night in Bloomington.
