Cards Drop in Polls; Blackshear, Ware Out for Pitt Game

The Louisville Cardinals have fallen to number 12 in the latest Associated Press men’s college basketball poll and are ranked 13th in the new USA Today coaches poll.

The Cards have lost three straight games since their first-ever regular season number one ranking two weeks ago.

Michigan took the top spot in the new AP poll; Kansas is number one in the coaches poll.  Indiana is ranked third in both surveys.

U of L will be without two players for tonight’s game against Pittsburgh.

Wayne Blackshear sprained his right shoulder during practice Sunday.   Blackshear, who plays both guard and forward and has started 19 of 20 games this season, is expected to be sidelined for “a short period.”

Guard Kevin Ware has been suspended indefinitely for an unspecified reason.

U of L and Pittsburgh tip off at 7:00pm at the KFC Yum Center.
