Crash Causes 'Extensive' Damage to Brick, Metal University of Louisville Sign

So I passed this  sign Tuesday near the Belknap campus the way to work. It used to say "University of Louisville." Now, it says "Unive    uisville."On Thanksgiving evening, a vehicle traveling at the intersection of Arthur Street and Brandeis Avenueleft the road and struck the sign, according to a UofL Police activity report.  The accident led to injuries that were not considered life-threatening.A request for further info (like, how exactly that type of damage happens) from Louisville Metro Police—which is investigating the accident—was not returned on Tuesday. The UofL Police report describes the damage as "extensive" (obviously). A university spokesman did not have an estimate for how much the sign will cost to repair.
