The New York Times <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/30/us/kentuckians-fed-up-with-a-fungus-sue-whiskey-makers.html?_r=2&amp;smid=tw-nytimes&amp;seid=auto" target="_blank">ran a piece </a>yesterday about the fungus--scientifically called Baudoinia--that's prevalent on the outside of distilleries and homes near them.
