Darryl Owens, the bill would expunge charges after five years, as long as they don't lead to a federal criminal indictment. The bill cleared the House Judiciary Committee by a 18 to 8 vote largely along party lines. Only one Republican joined the committee's Democrats in support of the bill.

Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Thomas Hill testified in support of the measure.
Wed, 29 Jan 2014 22:00:00 +0000 Jonathan Meador 8408 at http://wfpl.org Kentucky House Committee OKs Felon Expungement Bill JCPS Committee Proposes Giving Former Drug Offenders Second Chance To Volunteer http://wfpl.org/post/jcps-committee-proposes-giving-former-drug-offenders-second-chance-volunteer
The Jefferson County Board of Education will consider a new policy later this month to allow some ex-offenders with drug convictions a second chance to volunteer in schools.

In JCPS, hundreds of parents are rejected from volunteering because the district bans anyone with a felony or drug and alcohol conviction from volunteering in supervisory roles.
Tue, 12 Nov 2013 20:25:14 +0000 Devin Katayama 7526 at http://wfpl.org JCPS Committee Proposes Giving Former Drug Offenders Second Chance To Volunteer
