The state Division of Water has asked the EPA to help determine the maximum amount of pollution that can be discharged into the watershed without exceeding the state water quality standard.</p> Mon, 23 Jul 2012 11:00:00 +0000 Erica Peterson 1085 at http://wfpl.org Sewage Spill Kills Fish in Brush Run http://wfpl.org/post/sewage-spill-kills-fish-brush-run <p>Hundreds of small fish have been found dead after thousands of gallons of raw sewage was accidentally released into a waterway in the far eastern part of Jefferson County.</p><p>Brush Run is a small stream&mdash;less than a foot deep in most areas&mdash;that feeds into Floyds Fork. Volunteers will boat down the river and climb along its banks picking up trash, in an effort to keep the waterway clean.</p><p>Teena Halbig is the co-president of the Floyds Fork Environmental Association.
