The report indicates that the higher numbers are in part a result of troop withdrawals in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, beginning in 2009, as well as an increased effort by various organizations to count homeless veterans.&nbsp;</p> Fri, 15 Nov 2013 12:00:00 +0000 Jonathan Meador 7566 at http://wfpl.org Report: Homelessness Among Kentucky Veterans Spikes VA’s Opiate Overload Feeds Veterans’ Addictions, Overdose Deaths http://wfpl.org/post/va-s-opiate-overload-feeds-veterans-addictions-overdose-deaths <p><em><strike>This reporting will be explored further <strike>on air at 1 p.m. today</strike> on Reveal, a news special produced by the California-based Center for Investigative Reporting.
