Former Clark County Sheriff Danny Rodden Agrees to Plead Guilty

The recently retired Clark County sheriff has agreed to plead guilty to chargesstemming from his alleged relationship with a prostitute.

A plea agreement filed in U.S. District Court on Thursday calls for former Clark County Sheriff Danny Rodden to plead guilty to two counts of making false statements to the FBI and one count of counseling the destruction of evidence. The agreement calls for Rodden to pay $300 to the court and for prosecutors to recommend a minimum sentence.

Rodden was placed on administrative leave in July following his arrest on charges of lying to the FBI and encouraging a prostitute to hide evidence of a 2013 encounter at a Louisville hotel in which he allegedly paid her $300.

Rodden retired as sheriff Wednesday.
