HBO Movie on Muhammad Ali's Supreme Court Fight to Have U.S. Premiere in Louisville

Muhammad Ali and his wife, Lonnie, are expected in Louisville next month to attend the U.S. premiere of the HBO film Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight.The showing will be invitation only on Oct. 2 at the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville. Ali's daughter Laila and HBO Films President Len Amato are also scheduled to attend.Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight explores the Supreme Court case the champion heavyweight/native Louisville found himself in over the draft for the Vietnam War. Here'sa synopsis: When Ali was drafted into the Vietnam War at the height of his boxing career, his claim to conscientious objector status led to a controversial legal battle that rattled the U.S. judicial system right up to the highest court in the land.The film stars Frank Langella, Christopher Plummer, Danny Glover and others. Ali will appear in archived footage. It's directed by Stephen Frears, who also directed The Queen and High Fidelity.Trailer:The Oct. 3 showing in Louisville is part of the Ali Center's Three Days of Greatness, a "social justice film festival and first-ever humanitarian awards gala." (We'll have more on those later.)If you're likely to find yourself not on the guest list, Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight will air on HBO at 8 p.m. on Oct. 5.
