High Court Upholds ACA: Roundup

Information for this post also came from the Associated PressPresident Barack Obama's health care overhaul will proceed thanks to the help of conservative Chief Justice John Roberts. The Supreme Court upheld the law today with Roberts joining with the court's four liberal justices in a 5-4 decision. The ruling drew quick reaction from members of the Kentucky and Indiana congressional delegations.    Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell renewed his callfor Congress to repeal the law.     Fellow Republican Rand Paul dismissed the ruling, sayingthe health care law is still unconstitutional, despite what the high court says.  That drew sharp rebukesfrom two University of Louisville scholars. Democratic Congressman John Yarmuth of Louisville praised the court's decision, predicting more Americans will support the law once they learn more about what's in it.     Ninth District Indiana Congressman Todd Young,  a Republican, believes the law is bad public policy.    Representatives of the advocacy groups Kentucky Voices for Health and Kentucky Youth Advocates also weighed in on the local impact of the ruling, as did Louisville-based insurer Humana.The governors of Kentucky and Indiana say they're reviewing the ruling to determine how to proceed with the creation of health insurance exchanges in their states.Indiana Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Pence raised eyebrows when he compared the ruling to the 9/11 attacks.  He later apologized.
