Indiana University Falls To Oregon State Ending College World Series Run

Indiana University fell to nationally seeded Oregon State Wednesday night in the elimination game, ending the Hoosiers' season and knocking the team out of the College World Series.

Indiana was hitless through five innings as Oregon pitcher Matt Boyd pitched a complete game, four-hit shutout. The only run of the game came in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly. The final score was 1-0, ending one of the most successful baseball seasons in Indiana baseball history and the team's first appearance in the College World Series. Both the Louisville Cardinals and the Hoosiers baseball teams played in the CWS this year. Indiana beat U of L in the teams' first game of the series last Saturday. The Cards fell to Oregon State earlier this week. The Beavers must beat Mississippi State twice to advance to the finals. The next game will be played on Friday.
