JCPS Board Hears Results of Curriculum Management Audit Monday Night

An educational auditing firm will present the Jefferson County Board of Education with its curriculum management audit at Monday night's board meeting.Phi Delta Kappa International was in Jefferson County last October. The audit team met with the JCPS community and has since been preparing its report, which reviews hundreds of district programs and interventions to assess their efficiencies.The firm made its first recommendation last year, suggesting the district cut 17 central administrative staff positions in order to streamline communication to Superintendent Donna Hargens. This recommendation was approved by the board and the district has since begun the process of hiring four new chief administrators.Lead Auditor Dr. John Murdoch said as many as a dozen recommendations and goals could be presented to the board tonight.The board requested the $300,000 audit last year and it was included in Superintendent Donna Hargen’s 90-day plan.
