Jeff Mosley will be Louisville’s new director of Economic Growth and Innovation, Mayor Greg Fischer announced on Wednesday.
Ted Smith previously served as Louisville director and chief of Economic Growth and Innovation, but will now carry only the chief title. Smith will focus on increasing Louisville’s “innovation and workforce development efforts,” a news release said.
Mosley will oversee the department’s daily operation.
Mosley is the general counsel for the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet and the Department of Revenue, where he worked on the Kentucky Kingdom and the KFC Yum Center projects. He’s previously worked in the state Transportation Cabinet and the Workforce Development Cabinet.
In the ’90s, Mosley worked as a lawyer in Louisville.
We’ve asked what his compensation will look like and will update here once we know.
The mayor also announced that Emily Liu will become the permanent director of Planning and Design Services, a job she’s held on an interim basis since her predecessor Phil Bills left earlier this year.
