Jeffersonville Mayor Apologizes After Personal Confrontation With Wife at City Hall

Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore has apologized for a personal incident that occurred at city Tuesday, which led to police being called.

Moore told the media Wednesday he wants to put the matter behind him.According to a statement Moore read to media, he and his wife, Vicki Moore, are getting a divorce. Moore also provided media with the police report that was filed, which tells the complete recounts from both Mike Moore and Vicki Moore's perspectives. That report says Vicki Moore visited city hall after Mike Moore wouldn't give her access to Southwest Airline to manage their airline points. At city hall, Mayor Moore says he called police after she refused to leave and physically "began to punch and kick him," the report states.According to Vicki Moore's statements, she's less clear about those incidents and says "either he pushed her so she punched him in the stomach or vice versa."Vicki Moore at some point threw a picture (that was a cartoon picture of him) and broke it against the wall, cutting her thumb. She then left for an appointment and police caught up with her later. In the report, both Mayor Moore and his wife stated they do not wish to pursue the incident any further. Now Moore says he’s sorry and he wants to move on.“I’m an elected official, I’m a big boy, I’ve gone through some tough life experiences.I can handle it. The unfortunate part is my children and I would appreciate the respect you might give them.”Moore said there have never been any physical altercations prior to this incident and he apologized to Jeffersonville citizens and to city hall staff members.
