The Kentucky Arts Council is accepting applications until March 15 from artists for their Performing Arts Directory and for individual visual artist fellowships.
Applications are open for Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowships and Emerging Artist Awards this year for visual, craft and media artists (literary and performing artists apply in even-numbered years).
The Al Smith Fellowship is an unrestricted $7,500 award for creative excellence among professional Kentucky artists. Grant guidelines and application are available here.
Emerging Artist Awards of $1,000 in unrestricted funds are given to recognize excellence in early career professional artists. Grant guidelines and application are available here.
A panel of independent arts professionals judge applications on artistic excellence and professional achievement.
Applications are also open for artists interested in being included in the Arts Council’s Performing Arts Directory. The directory is an adjudicated online roster of performing artists in Kentucky. Individual artists and companies with an established performance history in dance, theater, music and storytelling may apply.
Applications are open for artists interested in being included in the Kentucky Arts Council’s Performing Arts Directory, the state’s adjudicated Web-based roster of Kentucky performing artists.
The directory is a resource to connect Kentucky’s professional performing artists with producers and presenters for performances, bookings and projects. Professional development and marketing opportunities are also available to artists included in the directory.
An independent panel of performing arts professionals accepts artists into the directory based on artistic excellence, performance experience and marketing capacity. View the current directory online.
Applicants must be full-time Kentucky residents for at least six months prior to the application deadline.
