Kentucky Attorney General Candidate Andy Beshear Flexes Fundraising Numbers, Endorsements

Democrat Andy Beshearis continuing to build-up a massive treasure chest in his bid for the 2015 Kentucky attorney general. The campaign reported Thursday it raised nearly $160,000 this past quarter, and has approximately $1.2 million cash on hand.

This latest fundraising haul is down considerably when compared to the campaign's first three months of the year, when Beshear raised just over $885,000. The total contributions give Beshear, the son of Governor Steve Beshear, an impressive lead with no other candidate from either party in the field.Beshear's campaign also announced it had the backing of prominent Democratic figures such as former attorneys general Dave Armstrong and Greg Stumbo, the former mayor of Louisville and the current state House speaker, respectively.Other Democrats such as former state Auditor Crit Luallen and incumbent State Auditor Adam Edelen also endorsed Beshear's run this week."I am proud to lend my endorsement to Andy Beshear," Luallen said in a news release. "I believe in his integrity, and am confident he will be a strong and ethical attorney general."Current attorney general, Democrat Jack Conway, cannot seek re-election because of term limits.
