KentuckyOne's Headquarters to be in Louisville, Bringing 10 New Jobs

KentuckyOne Health's headquarters will be in downtown Louisville in the Jewish Hospital Medical Plaza building,the health system announced Thursday.The decision is expected to add 10 new full-time jobs—$1.3 million in new annual payroll, according to a related news release from Greater Louisville Inc.KentuckyOnehas been approved from as much as $240,000 in Kentucky Business Incentives for as many as 10 years, GLI said.“Downtown Louisville is the right choice for our headquarters for a number of reasons, including the proximity to several of our Louisville facilities;  easy access to other areas in the Commonwealth; convenient access to the Louisville International Airport and a location in the largest city in the Commonwealth," KentuckyOne President and CEO Ruth W. Brinkley said in a news release."In addition, the Jewish Hospital Medical Plaza is already one of our owned assets, which made it a financially viable option.”At the moment, KentuckyOne's executives work out of the Jewish Hospital Rudd Heart & Lung Center.The new headquarter space is estimated to cost $5.5 million, including renovations to the interior and exterior of the Medical Plaza building. Renovation of the new headquarter space will cost be finished by December 2013.KentuckyOne formed in January 2012 in the merger of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Healthcare and Lexington's Saint Joseph Health Systems, under the umbrella of the Colorado-based Catholic Health Initiatives. In November, KentuckyOne  and University of Louisville Hospital and James Graham Brown Cancer Center announced a new partnership.University Hospital had sought to be part of the merger in a plan that was nixed by Gov. Steve Beshear after critics expressed concerns over CHI's adherence to bishops' Ethical and Religious Directives
