Kentucky's Ark Won't Be the First Replica Built to Biblical Specs

A Dutch man has accomplished something that's been under planning for years in Kentucky -- the construction of a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark, using biblical specs. And this one is demonstrably seaworthy. Called Jonah's Ark, the boat is moored in Dordrecht,Netherlands, according to the Associated Press, in a story run in Toronto's National Post accompanied by several photographs. The Ark was constructed by Johan Huibers, who began work on the Ark in 1992 after dreaming of a flooded, the AP reported. From the story: Gazing across the ark’s main hold, a huge space of stalls supported by a forest of pine trees, visitors gaze upon an array of stuffed and plastic animals, such as buffalo, zebra, gorillas, lions, tigers, bears, you name it. Elsewhere on the ark is a petting zoo with actual live animals that are less dangerous or easier to care for — such as ponies, dogs, sheep, and rabbits — and an impressive aviary of exotic birds.
