The last opportunity to participate in the JCPS Comprehensive School Survey will be March 7, an extended date because of the school system’s nine snow days.
The survey is offered by Jefferson County Public Schools to get input on various issues related to the school system, from student safety to school cleanliness. Marco Munoz of JCPS’s accountability, research and planning office says public engagement is key to making the survey useful.
“It’s really important for us to always listen to the primary people we work with,” Munoz says. “We want to hear from parents, teachers and the primary people of all, students.”
Here’s more about the survey from JCPS:
“Students in grades four through twelve will complete the CSS at school during the school day. All parents/guardians who have registered for Parent Portal will receive an e-mail with a link directing them to the new Data Management Survey Tool (DMST), where they can complete the survey.
Parents who do not have computer access or an e-mail account will be provided with a paper-and- pencil survey. School staff are being asked to provide parents with access to the school’s computer lab so that they may complete the survey online. Parents are encouraged to complete the CSS to ensure that their opinions and feedback are part of the district’s decision-making process.
JCPS employees with district e-mail accounts will receive an e-mail that contains a link to the staff surveys on the DMST. Employees who do not have a district e-mail account and/or a computer will be provided access to the DMST to complete their survey. Using the DMST will allow parents and staff to complete their surveys in a faster, more efficient manner. These surveys are completely anonymous.”
