Saying goodbye to your child as they enter school for the first time can be a mix of anxiousness, sadness, joy and everything in between.

I went to Middletown Elementary School in the East Louisville, which has opened its doors to parents post-drop off for the past several years to help them cope, talk and take a breather after seeing their child enter the first of several classes they’ll see for the next dozen years. They call it “Boo Hoo Breakfast.”

Listen below to hear how the parents felt after dropping off their kids to school on Tuesday’s first day in class.
