Logo For Louisville City Soccer Club To Be Unveiled Sunday

Soccer fans attending the Fourth Street Live viewing party of the United States Men’s National Team's next match in the World Cup on Sunday will be be the first to see the new logo for Louisville's new professional soccer team.USA will take on Portugal at 6 p.m. on Sunday in Manaus, Brazil. During halftime, Louisville City Football Club staff will unveil the new logo. Related: What You Need to Know About Louisville City FCFans submitted more than 120 concepts in a contest to design the official team logo, said Kristen Wallace, team spokeswoman.

  Wallace said the four finalists are all local artists, but entries came  from as far as Brooklyn.“Most people did everything we asked for as far as the requirements, they definitely used their artistic skills, some looked like they had a superhero feel, others were very simplistic,” she said.  “It was very neat to see them all.”Team officials announced the contest last week after several fans took to social media to register their disapproval of the original logo.The winning artist will receive a $500 stipend, along with tickets and will be recognized during the inaugural game and throughout the season on the team’s program.
