Louisville Cardinals, with Dieng, Beat Kentucky Wildcats 80-77

The Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team on Saturday defeated the Kentucky Wildcats the first time since 2009 in a game that featured the return of center Gorgui Dieng, who was sidelined in November with a wrist injury.The Cards led by 17 points early in the second half at the KFC Yum Center, but the Wildcats  cut the Cards lead to four with 33 seconds left. Still, the Cardinals were able to capitalize on one of the Wildcats 14 turnovers to win the game -- a stolen ball dunked by Louisville's Chane Behanan. A late three-pointer by Archie Goodwin made the score 80-77, which is how the game ended.Russ Smith led the Cardinals with 21 points. Goodwin led the Wildcats with 22.Dieng, who did not start the game, scored six points and had seven rebounds.The Cardinals are now 12-1 and the Wildcats are 8-4.
