His career has spanned more than a half-century, and he’s shared the stage with some of the legends of music and show business.
Now, Louisville’s Turley Richards has published his autobiography, "Blindsighted." In the book, the singer-songwriter recounts how a childhood accident eventually led to a total loss of sight as an adult.
He also recalls his rise to stardom in the 1960s and '70s, performing alongside the likes of Miles Davis, Richard Pryor and the Moody Blues, his many national television appearances, as well his career disappointments.
These days, Richards, now 73, still perform in the Louisville area and is a vocal coach; some of his students have made it to the finals of the TV shows "The Voice" and "American Idol."
