Louisvillians Plan Rally for Trayvon Martin Sunday

Several dozen Louisville residents are planning a rally for Sunday afternoon to respond to yesterday's ruling in the trial of George Zimmerman.Zimmerman was acquitted Saturday of "all charges in the 2012 fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin during a scuffle in a gated Florida community."On Sunday morning, a Facebook event called the "Anti Racist Rally for Trayvon Martin" was created. Organizers plan to gather at the Carl Braden Memorial Center on West Broadway. About 75 people have pledged to attend online. "This is not a protest," says the event page. "This is also not the end of actions being planned for this. we cannot rest."Many similar rallies have been organized across the country by those who feel justice has not been served in the Zimmerman case.Last year, Louisvillians rallied to raise awareness of the circumstances surrounding Martin's death. There were many rallies at the time nationwide doing the same and calling for Zimmeran's arrest.
