Update 4:35 p.m.: SnowingSo it's snowing in Louisville. In its update Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service said the heaviest snowfall will be in the evening hours. It's forecast to continue into Monday morning, "mainly before 4 a.m."Here's the latest map, which is pretty close to the old one:
City and state road crews were preparing to take to the roads in the afternoon. Earlier: Accumulating snow is again in the forecast for the Louisville area.This time, the National Weather Service is forecasting three to five inches for the Louisville area through early Monday morning.A winter storm warning is in effect for Louisville and surrounding Kentucky counties from 4 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday. Southern Indiana is under a winter weather advisory.Rain on Sunday is expected to become snow in the afternoon as the temperature decreases, the weather service said. Late Sunday night and early Monday morning, the snowfall is forecast to pick up and become heavy at times.If that happens, roads will become slick and hazardous, the weather service said. The positive side is that the temperature won't be quite as freezing as in recent Louisville snowfalls. The overnight low in Louisville is forecast to be 25 degrees and the high temperature Monday is forecast to be 35, the weather service said.As usual, we'll update here as the snow issue develops.
