Murray State President Responds to Controversy Over Open Meetings

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

MURRAY, Ky. — Murray State President Randy Dunn says he supports investigating the possibility that the school's board of regents violated the state's Open Meetings Law during a gathering the night before they voted not to renew his contract. The Murray Ledger & Times reports Dunn's comments in the university's newsletter are the most detailed statements he has made since the board of regents' vote on March 15. In the column, Dunn says that he respects the board's authority to make decisions deemed best for the future of the school, but notes those decisions "must be made transparently." Meanwhile, WPSD-TV reports that faculty and staff who have expressed opposition to the board's vote will pose questions Tuesday afternoon about the decision to board of regents Chairman Constantine Curris.
