NCAA Tournament: U of L Women Beat Iowa, Advance to Regionals on Home Court

In the women’s NCAA basketball tournament, Shoni Schimmel had 26 points, seven assists and five steals to help Louisville roll over host Iowa 83-53 Tuesday night to earn their fifth trip to the Sweet Sixteen under coach Jeff Walz.Antonita Slaughter added 17 points on five 3-pointers for the third-seeded Cardinals (32-4), who advanced to the regional semifinal at their home court, the KFC Yum Center.U of L made it to the title game of last year’s tournament, losing to champion Connecticut.
