Scottish Play Haunts Amphitheater's Parkside Studio

Jenni Cochran and J. Barrett Cooper as Lady and Lord Macbeth.

Just in time for Halloween, Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company opens a production of the eerie Shakespeare tragedy "Macbeth." The bloody tale of renegade power, murder and madness opens Thursday at Iroquois Amphitheater's Parkside Studio

Metro Parks transforms the amphitheater stage into Parkside Studio by closing off the large stage's usually invisible fourth wall, creating an intimate, indoor stage (for days so foul and fair alike).

The End of Men: A ConversationWwith Hanna Rosin

Few books have been more discussed this year than Hanna Rosin's, "The End of Men: And the Rise of Women." Through reams of data and cultural arguments, she argues that women have been eclipsing men in the workplace because they're more adaptable and communicative in a changing, information-based economy.

But is this ultimately a good thing for women? Has it made them happier?  Have they finally achieved an equal status with men in the workplace? And....what about the future of men?

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is running ads in support of controversial Republican Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin in his bid to unseat Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill.

New Ordinance Aims to Hold Banks Responsible for Vacant Properties

Foreclosed properties near the site of Tuesday's announcement of the new ordinance.

City leaders plan to create a new registry to help the city better track vacant properties and ensure they're maintained.

The city has over 16,000 abandoned properties. In some neighborhoods, up to a third of the houses are vacant. A proposed ordinance would create a city registry to track foreclosed properties and levy fines on banks that are not following regulations. Whenever banks foreclose on a home, they'll be required to give the city notice and information on who is responsible for maintaining the property.

“Generally, once the banks acknowledge that they are responsible for the properties they do a pretty good job of maintaining the properties. The ones where we have a lot of issues are when it’s in this no man’s land where we’re still fining and still citing a property owner who has already walked away from the property,” says Councilman Rick Blackwell, D-12, who is sponsoring the ordinance.

Obama's support is now down to 37 percent among rural battleground voters, a plunge of 10 points from the actual rural vote in those states four years ago.

An 18-year-old girl winces as she has her third and final shot of the HPV vaccine.

Giving the human papillomavirus vaccine to teenage girls doesn't increase the likelihood that they will be sexually active, according to a new study.

That may help put parents at ease; the notion of vaccinating 11- and 12-year-old girls for a sexually transmitted virus has made some uncomfortable, and is one reason why only a little more than half of teenage girls have had the vaccine.
