Black Lung Returns; Landmarks Ordinance; Kentucky Shakespeare: Today on Byline

Here is the rundown for Byline for this Friday the 13th of July.

0:00 - Black lung:  the disease has returned with a vengeance in the Appalachian coalfields. WFPL environment reporter Erica Peterson discusses it with Howard Berkes, reporter from NPR, and Chris Hamby with the Center for Public Integrity. They’ve been investigating the black lung resurgence in a series of reports and features unveiled earlier this week.

23:00 - This coming Tuesday the Louisville Metro Council committee is scheduled to vote on a controversial landmarks ordinance.  WFPL reporter Devin Katayama speaks with Bob Griffith of Preservation Louisville about what's at stake and how two opposing plans differ.

36:30 - Arts segment with WFPL's Erin Keane.  Today Erin speaks with Brantley Dunaway about the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival.  He describes some changes at the organization and details about the productions this summer.
