Byline Today: Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, Beam Inc.'s Sale and Water Concerns
On Byline today, we'll hear from Louisville Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, Kentucky poet laureate Frank X Walker and about what Beam Inc.'s sale to a Japanese company means for Louisville.
Up first, however, we'll get an update about the goings-on in Frankfort as the Kentucky General Assembly's 2014 session starts getting down to business.
Recently, Louisville Archbishop Joseph Kurtz was elected president of the U.S. Conference of Bishops. Kurtz recently sat down with WFPL's Jonathan Bastian to talk about this and other matters.
Also this week, West Virginia chemical spills that led to warnings to not use the water there. Now, the chemical is in the Ohio River and approaching (or has reached) the Louisville area. The Louisville Water Co. says the drinking water here is safe. WFPL's Erica Peterson will discuss the issue and the latest developments.
