Byline Today: Cockfighting Questions, Louisville Metro Council Fundraising and More

This week, cockfighting again entered the political conversation. Plus, the state ethics commission reversed itself on the John Arnold sexual harassment case and questions were raised about the retirement package for the leader of Kentucky's community college system.

We'll talk about these stories and more today on Byline.

First up, we'll hear from WFPL's Phillip Bailey and Kentucky Public Radio's Jonathan Meador, who looked into the recent federal charges filed against Eastern Kentucky residents accused of leading a cockfighting ring. The case is raising question about alleged political ties.

They'll also discuss Attorney General Jack Conway's bid for governor and Metro Council fundraising.

Later, we'll hear again from Phillip about Republican Senate challenger Matt Bevin's campaign.

We'll also hear from James McNair of the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting. Yesterday, McNair wrote a piece about an agreement to pay Kentucky Community & Technical College System President Michael McCall his salary for a year after his retirement.

Join us at 1 p.m. today for these discussions and more. Tune in at 89.3 or stream at WFPL.org.
