Byline Today: Rand Paul's Plagiarism Troubles, Hugh Haynie Exhibition and College Hoops

This week, Rand Paul addressed the plagiarism found in his speeches and writing, the Frazier History Museum prepared an exhibition showcasing the work of the late editorial cartoonist Hugh Haynie and the sports world's eyes turned toward the new college basketball season.

We'll talk about these stories and more this afternoon on Byline.

Sen. Paul has spent the past several days under criticism for  lifting passages in speeches, columns and books. WFPL's Phillip Bailey will discuss. Sticking with the topic of Paul, University of Louisville professor Rick Jones and the Rev. Kevin Cosby recently discussed the senator's outreach efforts to African American voters. We'll hear parts of that discussion.

WFPL's Gabe Bullard takes a look at the work of Hugh Haynie, the late Courier-Journal editorial cartoonist. Haynie's work will be showcased at the Frazier History Museum.

Also, the 2013-14 college basketball season is underway. We'll hear from Haven Harrington, host of WLOU's Main Event Sports, about what to look for from the defending men's national champion Louisville Cardinals, the top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats and others.

Join us at 1 p.m. today for these stories at more. Listen at 89.3 or stream at WFPL.org.
