Cards to Face Vanderbilt for College World Series Berth
The University of Louisville baseball team is two victories away from a trip to the College World Series, but the Cards will have to get past one of the country's best teams.
U of L visits Vanderbilt this weekend for a best-of-three series in the NCAA super regional round.
Vandy is the number two national seed and defeated the Cards 10-2 in their last meeting in April.
But U of L has gone 19-2 since then.
The Cards are trying to reach the College World Series for just the second time in school history and for the first time since 2007, when they were eliminated by North Carolina.
The first pitch for Saturday’s opener in Nashville is 3:00pm. The Cards and Commodores will play again on Sunday, and, if necessary, on Monday.
Indiana has also made the NCAA super regionals. The Hoosiers face Florida State Saturday at noon in Tallahassee.
