Cards Rise in College Basketball Polls
By Rick Howlett
The Louisville Cards have moved up this week in both the Associated Press and USA Today men’s college basketball polls.
U of L is number eight in the AP survey, up two spots from last week. The Cards are sixth in the USA Today coaches poll, up from ninth last week.
Gonzaga captured the top spot in both polls. The Zags are the number one team for the first time in school history.
Indiana dropped to second in both surveys after losing at Minnesota last week.
Kentucky did not make the top 25 in either poll.
U of L returned to action Monday night with a 67-51 win over visiting Cincinnati.
The Cards will finish their regular season at home Saturday against Notre Dame. The Irish defeated U of L last month in a five-overtime game in South Bend.
