Cards Will Try to End Losing Slide at Georgetown
The University of Louisville men’s basketball team will try to snap a two-game losing streak Saturday when the Cards visit Georgetown.
Coach Rick Pitino’s team was ranked number one in the country a week ago, but has since fallen to Big East Conference opponents Syracuse and Villanova.
"Like I said to you guys before the season, we are going to have our peaks and valleys," Pitino said at his Friday press conference.
"I don’t think you guys believed me. I think you thought this team was just going to lose one or two games. It’s not that type of league, we’re not that type of team."
Pitino says the Cards will need improve their defense and shot selection against Georgetown. The Hoyas have won three of their last four games, including a road victory this week at Notre Dame.
Tipoff is at noon.
The Kentucky Wildcats are also looking to get back on the winning track after this week’s loss at Alabama. UK faces Louisiana State Saturday at Rupp Arena. Tipoff is 4:00pm.
The Indiana Hoosiers return to action Sunday, hosting Michigan State at 1:00pm.
