Chart: How Much Did Louisville Council District 9 Candidates Raise Per Vote?

There's rarely any polling in Metro Council races, so the speculation about who will win is usually based on name recognition and fundraising. In the Louisville Metro Council's District 9 Democratic primary, fundraising created two tiers of candidates, with three contenders—J.P. Davis, Chris Hartley and the eventual winner, Bill Hollander—holding tens of thousands of dollars more than their ten other opponents. As expected, one of the better-funded candidates won (Mike Brooks saw what appears to be an insignificant bump from a Courier-Journal endorsement), but the winner was not the best-funded candidate. Here's how much each candidate spent per vote:|
