Coal Conference is in Louisville This Week

Thousands of coal industry professionals will be in Louisville this week for a conference.

Coal-Gen 2012 is four days of lectures, workshops and networking for people who work in the coal-fired power sector. There are sessions on the challenges federal air regulations pose for coal, carbon capture technology and whether natural gas will be a long-term threat to the industry. There are also workshops called “Campaigning to Improve Coal’s Image,” and “How to Survive the Onslaught of EPA Rules.”

The conference kicks off with four keynote speakers, which include the EPA’s Assistant Administrator for Air Gina McCarthy and John Voyles of Louisville Gas and Electric.

The conference begins Tuesday.
