College Basketball: Louisville Cardinals Fall in Women's AAC Tourney Final
The University of Louisville women’s basketball team fell short in their bid for an American Athletic Conference Tournament title Monday night. The third-ranked Cardinals lost to number one Connecticut 72-52 in the AAC championship game in Uncasvlle, Conn.
U of L players will now wait a week to find out when and where they’ll play in the NCAA Tournament. The pairings are set for the men’s AAC Tournament in Memphis. Louisville opens play Thursday afternoon against either Rutgers or South Florida.
In the men’s Southeastern Conference Tournament, the Kentucky Wildcats will face either Alabama or LSU Friday in Atlanta. Western Kentucky is in action Saturday in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in New Orleans. Indiana opens play Thursday against Illinois in the men’s Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.
