College Basketball: U of L vs Notre Dame; UK hosts Florida; IU at Michigan
In college basketball, the Louisville Cardinals return to action tomorrow for an eagerly awaited rematch with Notre Dame.
The Irish beat the Cardinals in five overtimes last month in South Bend.
This is the Cards regular season finale and, and coach Rick Pitino says it’s probably the most important home game of his 12 seasons in Louisville.
"For a variety of reasons. One being that we’re playing for a championship, which you don’t normally get. Two is we’re saying goodbye to two really, really special young men, as special as any two players I’ve ever coached," Pitino said.
U of L can capture at least a share of the Big East Conference title with a victory.
It’s also Senior Day at the KFC Yum Center. Peyton Siva and Gorgui Dieng will be honored before their final home game. Another senior, Mike Marra became an assistant coach after suffering a career-ending injury this season.
Tomorrow’s tipoff is 4:00pm.
In Lexington, the Kentucky Wildcats hope to salvage any hopes of getting an at-large NCAA tournament bid with a win tomorrow against Florida. Tipoff is at noon.
Indiana will try to capture the Big Ten title Sunday at Michigan.
