College Football: Cards Beat EKU; Kentucky Notches First Win; WKU Falls to Vols

Teddy Bridgewater threw four touchdown passes and John Wallace added three field goals as the number eight Louisville Cardinals defeated Eastern Kentucky 44-7 today at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

U of L improves to 2-0 on the season heading into next week’s showdown with the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

The Wildcats (1-1) captured their first victory for new head coach Mark Stoops, defeating Miami (Ohio) 41-7 at Commonwealth Stadium.

The Cards and Cats will square off next Saturday at noon.

In Knoxville, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers were hampered by seven turnovers, including five in a six-possession stretch, and fell to host Tennessee 52-20. The Hilltoppers are 1-1 going into next week’s game at South Alabama.

Indiana is 1-1 on the season after losing to Navy 41-35.
